April is full of plenty of non-country concerts. Each of these concerts features artists currently touring worldwide and playing on national radio stations for no more than $25. Hearing talented artists shouldn’t make your bank account cry. Below I’ve compiled a list of just a few of the artists coming to Nashville in April.
April 12
Elle King ($20)
Cannery Ballroom, 7:30 p.m.
Elle King is easily the sassiest artist I have ever seen perform. She takes command of the stage and keeps the crowd’s energy up, while putting on a show you’ll want to relive. Definitely check out this artist on the rise.
Genre: blend of soul, rock, blues and a little country (although I would never classify her as a country artist)
Most popular songs: Ex’s and Oh’s, America’s Sweetheart, Under the Influence
April 13
Knox Hamilton ($15)
Mercy Lounge, 7:45 p.m.
From touring with Grizfolk to now headlining some shows, the catchy bass lines and dope guitar riffs make Knox Hamilton a very entertaining band. Super down-to-earth guys with a passion for music that’s incredibly evident in the way the band performs.
Genre: dance rock, indie pop
Most popular song: Work It Out
April 21
Datsik ($20)
Marathon Music Works, 8 p.m.
Why not go see a dubstep artist who’s performed at some of the top music festivals around the world? Especially when it’s only $20. For an experience you can actually feel, this dubstep artist is one you probably won’t want to miss.
Genre: dubstep
Most popular songs: Deviance, 8 Bit Superhero, Smoke Bomb
April 22
Santigold ($25)
Marathon Music Works, 8 p.m.
As an artist who’s collaborated with A$AP Rocky, Kanye West and the Beastie Boys, Santigold is an amazing performer who slays with every note. Bringing the energy from the stage into the audience is something Santigold, her band and backup dancers do best.
Genre: electronic
Most popular songs: Disparate Youth, Can’t Get Enough of Myself, Chasing Shadows
April 24
Greg Holden ($15)
3rd & Lindsley, 8 p.m.
As the songwriter behind the Phillip Phillips hit “Home,” Greg Holden has gone from struggling to pay for gas to travel to shows, to someone who now travels internationally doing what he loves. A very humble man, Holden engages with a crowd, knowing he isn’t the most famous man, but just an average guy attempting to make his dreams come true.
Genre: folk, soft rock
Most popular songs: Hold On Tight, Boys In The Street, The Lost Boy
April 29
Houndmouth ($20)
Cannery Ballroom, 8 p.m.
Having only been around for five years, this band from Indiana has made a pretty big name for itself. With nearly 12 million listens to its hit song “Sedona” on Spotify, Houndmouth has gained fame rapidly since the release of its newest album. With all four voices in perfect harmony, Houndmouth is a spectacular group to hear live.
Genre: indie rock, folk rock
Most popular songs: Sedona, For No One, On The Road
April 30
Kaleo ($15)
Marathon Music Works, 4 p.m.
This Icelandic group recently finished touring with Vance Joy, after being discovered in America at South by Southwest. Although the band may have just been starting off its career in the US, Kaleo has managed to steal the hearts of crowds nationwide. Even without knowing its songs, this is a band I would definitely recommend for those who like the indie pop-and-folk feel.
Genre: indie pop, rock, folk
Most popular songs: All The Pretty Girls, Way Down We Go, No Good
Are there any concerts you’re excited for in April? If so, which ones? They definitely don’t have to be the cheaper concerts like the ones I mentioned above!
I really like hearing about the upcoming concerts in Nashville. I also like that you named a bunch of concerts for under $70 or more because as a college student I don’t want to spend that much money right now. Love the idea for your blog!

Thank you for compiling this list! You’re right, concerts shouldn’t cost so much. I’m always looking for cheap, fun things to do around town. Maybe I can catch one of these shows!

I don’t know of any other concerts in April other than the ones you mentioned because I don’t really keep up with it. However, Elle King and Greg Holden sound like great performers to me!
